More Adventures in Central Park

We decided to head over to Central Park today and see some more of this mammoth piece of nature. We were specifically in search of the Carousel- one that Madeline and I had been on last summer but Eva and Dad had yet to ride. We got lost in the process but had a good time listening to a jazz group of street musicians and eating ice cream from a street vendor. We finally found the carousel and the girls really enjoyed the ride. Loud music and a fast ride= fun for them.

Central Park Fun

So we spent our Friday Evening in Central Park in search of some nature to enjoy, along with hot dogs, pretzels and gyros. The park was beautiful tonight, and so was the weather. The southeast part of Central park has so many trees that canopy over the walking areas. Very beautiful. These pictures are to illustrate how gorgeous the greenery is. Maybe I am just so impressed with it because much of what I see all day long in concrete, I don't know.

We quickly learned that the Gyro stands we thought were in Central Park were in fact not, so we decided to head down 5th avenue in search of a stand to eat at. The kids could not wait, so we had them get a hot dog and pretzel before we began our search. Before we knew it we had walked from 63rd to 53rd and still had no luck with the gyro stand idea. So, we settled for the Metro Cafe on 53rd and Lexington, which ended up being really good and pretty reasonably priced.

Moving to New York

So we are finally here in NYC!! We moved here a week ago and are getting more an more unpacked every day. We have purchased a ton of stuff from IKEA to make the most of our cramped living quarters with some extra storage. The girls are getting used to Roosevelt Island, and are loving the fact that we get to take a gondola (the tram) into Manhattan practically every day. We went to our new ward today and it is the Union Square Ward- the Meetinghouse is on 14th street, and the building is spread out over 4 floors. The girls are loving being able to take the elevator to Primary. Marc's job doesn't start until the 6th of August so we are trying to live it up until then!
